A rental ad for a two-bedroom apartment in New Zealand has caused an uproar after a bizarre but obvious defect was spotted.
The property, which is advertised for $1,816 in a modern block in Kilbirnie, a suburb of Wellington, New Zealand would have no privacy, with one wall of each of the bedrooms made of glass.
It would mean that anyone in the lounge room or those cooking dinner in the open-plan kitchen right next to the rooms would be able to see into them.
“Why the f–k would you have glass bedroom walls that look onto the kitchen – unless you’re some kind of clothes-optional family?” asked one Reddit user after seeing the photo online.
“Some people like dinner and a show,” joked another.

While another angrily commented: “They look like glass prison cells. People who design these things really don’t give a f— anymore.
“Show that to your parents and ask if they would’ve paid seven times their salary for that joke of an apartment when they were younger.”
Ironically, the Reddit post was originally put up because a potential renter was questioning the lack of windows in the bedrooms.
“Is this legal?” the poster asked.

“The tenancy laws seem quite clear that all bedrooms must have windows that can open to the outside.
“Is this some loophole because the bedrooms have the glass front?”
Nobody gave a clear answer to the question and, instead, the post took on a life of its own, as the platform’s users debated the pros – and mainly cons – of a glass-walled bedroom.
“Aah, sweet man-made horrors beyond comprehension,” said one.
“Is this a swingers lounge?” asked another.
One said: “I saw this and was like what the f–k, how could someone live there? Not worth the price.”
